Jason T. Brassell's Testimony |

Well, I'll start off by saying that I was raised in a Baptist church that my dad made me go to. I couldn't stand it. It's not the fact that it was Baptist, but that it was church in general. In sixth grade, my parents split up and I was out of church all together. I started in the A/G not too long after that when my cousin invited me on a Six Flags trip. The key was that you had to go to two services before the trip to be able to go. So I went and loved it. I went to A/G Georgia camp that summer and was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit that same week. I've missed two out of fifteen years of camp since then. I knew of my call to the ministry after camp at the age of 16. I ignored it and partied for a few years while still in church off and on. I actually received that call in my bedroom after a weekend of hard partying at the age of 22. I've been a youth pastor for the past six years and LOVE it!!!
I've actually been told twice in my life that I'd never walk. Once at birth, and the other three years ago after a bad car wreck. The femur in my right leg was broken in fourteen places (doctor said it was wrung like when you dry out a wet rag). After the wreck, I took my first step a month and a half later. There's many other details to share, but for now let's just say GOD is sweet!

A quick overview on what type of youth pastor I am:
What you see with me is what you get! I am very passionate. I am a hands on, relational youth pastor. I believe in doing whatever it takes for youth/families to get to know God. In my youth services, I want teenagers to come to church and encounter God. I believe in a contemporary up-tempo service with music, videos, and games; while keeping God and what He wants to do the main focus of the night. I believe in discipleship, missions (trips and STL), camp, and youth convention. So far in my six years of ministry I have had 5 youth/leaders go into or are going into the ministry. I also believe that being there for teens away from church is as important as being there for them on Sundays and Wednesdays. And last, my motto is this: "Anyone can throw a party on Wednesday night and call it church"
