Why Do You Not Allow Email Addresses Within Listings?
We do not allow the posting of email addresses within listings for a large amount of reasons, including, but not limited to:
-- Spamming (there are programs out there called "email harvesters" that go to websites such as ours and do nothing but collect email addresses to send spam too)
-- Privacy (by not allowing the listing of email addresses, and forcing people to use our 'Contact This Member' system, we ensure you are not contacted by someone who is not a member of our website and who is very possibly not a member of the Assemblies of God)
-- Site Protection (Our site pays it's bills by membership fees. If we started allowing people to post publicly listed email addresses than people could simply contact you directly without ever paying us. Though we do not want to hinder a possible contact between you and someone else, we must protect our own interests)
Please note that any attempts at circumventing our methods to not allow email addresses to be posted publicly will result in a warning and continued usage will result in a termination of your membership. |
